Hier soir a eu lieu le premier match de NFL au Brésil dans la ville de Sao Paulo.<\/h2>

Le commissaire de la NFL<\/a>, Roger Goodell, a affirmé vouloir atteindre la barre des 16 matchs internationaux par an. L’année dernière, le commissaire de la NFL a évoqué l’idée d’avoir une division européenne dans la ligue. Il semble que celui-ci ait pris du recul par rapport à cette décision et espère désormais s’étendre beaucoup plus à l’international.<\/p>

« Je pense que la première chose sur laquelle nous allons nous concentrer est le fait que les propriétaires ont déjà approuvé huit matchs », a déclaré Goodell<\/a>. « J’espère pouvoir porter ce nombre à 16 à l’avenir. Nous verrons comment cela se passe, mais je pense qu’il y a un certain nombre de villes au niveau international qui pourraient le faire. C’est toujours un aspect compétitif qui nous préoccupe ».<\/p><\/blockquote>

Ajouter plus de matchs en Europe et à l’international pourrait permettre aux équipes de repartir sur un pied d’égalité. Une saison de NFL est assez courte et l’écart entre chaque match avoisine les sept jours. Voyager en Europe et revenir la semaine d’après provoque une certaine fatigue pour les joueurs que ce soit au niveau du décalage horaire ou encore du voyage en lui même.<\/p>

Le système actuel ou certaines équipes jouent des matchs à l’étranger et d’autres noms pourrait poser des problèmes sur la légitimité de la victoire. La ligue devrait alors prendre des mesures pour compenser cela en allouant par exemple des choix de draft compensatifs à certains.<\/p>

Dans une saison régulière à 17 matchs, passer à 16 matchs internationaux permettrait de repartir sur un pied d’égalité vu que les 32 franchises joueront à l’international. De plus, cela permettrait également d’avoir une répartition égale au niveau des matchs à domicile. Tout le monde aura ainsi huit matchs à domicile, huit à l’extérieur, ainsi que un sur terrain neutre.<\/p>

Ce système est tout de même fragile si la NFL décide d’augmenter son nombre de matchs au calendrier de la saison régulière. Le dernier problème sera de trouver des villes supplémentaire pour accueillir la NFL.
