Anthony Edwards est rapidement devenu l’une des stars montantes les plus en vue de la NBA. Sa montée en puissance au cours des six derniers mois a été fulgurante, faisant la une des journaux sur et hors du terrain.<\/h2>

Pourtant, ce n’est pas seulement ses exploits sur le parquet qui ont capturé l’imagination du public, sa présence sur les médias sociaux a également attiré une attention considérable. Mardi, Anthony Edwards<\/a> a partagé sur Instagram un post qui résume son parcours et fait allusion à ce qui l’attend.<\/p>

La légende, intitulé ‘C’est beaucoup d’entre nous’, est rapidement devenu viral et a reçu plus de 82 000 likes en seulement trois heures.<\/p>

Cette expression, qui peut être interprétée de diverses façons, semblait résonner avec beaucoup d’autres, mais un commentaire particulier a été prononcé : l’ancienne star de la NBA Josh Smith<\/a> a simplement écrit « Himington ».<\/p>

Le commentaire de Smith, bien que bref, a un poids significatif lorsqu’on considère la connexion entre les deux joueurs.<\/p>

Tous deux sont originaires d’Atlanta, en Géorgie, et ont représenté leur ville natale avec fierté sur la scène de la NBA.<\/p>

Smith, qui a été sélectionné 17ème choix par les Hawks d’Atlanta lors de la draft NBA 2004  tout juste après le lycée, a fait une différence immédiate dans la ligue avec ses dunks électrisants et ses qualités défensives.<\/p>

Bien qu’il n’ait jamais participé à un All-Star Game, Smith est largement considéré comme l’un des meilleurs dunkers de l’histoire de la NBA et son héritage à Atlanta est cimenté par les neuf saisons qu’il a passées avec les Hawks.<\/p>

Le parcours de Smith dans la NBA l’a également vu porter les maillots des Detroit Pistons, des Houston Rockets, des Los Angeles Clippers et des New Orleans Pelicans avant qu’il ne prenne sa retraite.<\/p>

Sa carrière, marquée par son athlétisme et sa polyvalence, sert de modèle à de nombreux jeunes joueurs d’Atlanta qui cherchent à faire leur marque dans la ligue<\/p>

Anthony Edwards, qui suit ces traces, semble prêt à non seulement égaler mais potentiellement surpasser les réalisations de Smith.<\/p>

Anthony Edwards a choisi une voie différente pour la NBA, passant un an à jouer au basket-ball universitaire à l’Université de Géorgie (UGA) avant de se déclarer pour la Draft NBA.<\/p>

Sa décision de rester dans l’Etat pour le basket-ball universitaire était un clin d’œil à ses racines, ce qui l’a encore plus attiré vers les fans en Géorgie.<\/p>

En 2020, Anthony Edwards a été sélectionné avec le 1er choix par les Minnesota Timberwolves et, en seulement quatre saisons, il s’est déjà établi comme l’une des plus brillantes stars de la ligue.<\/p>

La saison dernière, Anthony Edwards a tourné à une moyenne de 25,9 points, 5,4 rebonds, 5,1 passes et 1,3 interceptions par match en tirant à 46,1 % de réussite et 35,7 % à 3pts.<\/p>

Ces chiffres soulignent sa capacité à marquer évidemment, mais aussi son jeu polyvalent, qui a permis de faire des comparaisons avec certains des meilleurs extérieurs de l’histoire de la NBA.<\/p>

À seulement 23 ans, le potentiel d’Anthony Edwards semble illimité et beaucoup pensent qu’il pourrait devenir l’un des plus grands joueurs à avoir joué à son poste.<\/p>

Les fans sur les réseaux sociaux ont rapidement compris l’importance du commentaire de Smith.<\/p>

Un utilisateur, @ATL_Basketball_Fan, a tweeté : ‘Josh Smith appelant Ant ‘Himington’ est comme un roi qui fait cavalier le suivant dans la file d’attente. La royauté du basket d’Atlanta sont là, ici même!’ Un autre fan, @Hoops_4Life, a écrit :<\/p>

‘Voir Josh Smith donner des encouragements à Ant est légendaire. Le passé et l’avenir du basketball ATL en connexion !’<\/p>

La relation entre Smith et Edwards met en lumière un récit plus large au sein de la NBA : l’évolution du jeu et le transfert d’influence d’une génération de joueurs à la suivante.<\/p>

Anthony Edwards continue de bâtir son héritage et il porte avec lui les espoirs et les attentes de ceux qui l’ont précédé, y compris Josh Smith.<\/p>

Pour Atlanta, ville au riche passé de basket-ball, voir sa propre ascension au sommet du sport est une source d’immense fierté.<\/p>

Et pour Anthony Edwards, le voyage ne fait que commencer.<\/p>

Avec chaque post, chaque match et chaque distinction, il consolide sa place non seulement dans le cœur des fans des Timberwolves mais aussi dans la lignée des grands basketteurs d’Atlanta.<\/p>
