Madison Square Garden Sports (MSGS) a clôturé l’année fiscale 2024 sur une note élevée, grâce aux parcours en playoffs des New York Knicks<\/a> et des New York Rangers<\/a>.<\/h2>

Les deux équipes ont atteint les phases finales de leurs playoffs respectifs, marquant la première fois depuis 2013 qu’elles avancent toutes deux au-delà du premier tour la même année. Cet exploit a joué un rôle crucial dans l’annonce par MSGS d’un chiffre d’affaires record de 227 millions de dollars au quatrième trimestre<\/strong>, une augmentation significative par rapport aux 127 millions de dollars de l’année précédente.<\/p>

Dans l’ensemble, le chiffre d’affaires total de la société pour l’année fiscale a dépassé le milliard de dollars, reflétant une augmentation de 16 % par rapport à 2023.<\/p>

Cette manne financière a été bénéfique pour MSGS, entraînant un bénéfice de 25 millions de dollars<\/strong> pour le quatrième trimestre, un retournement spectaculaire par rapport à la perte de 9,3 millions de dollars au cours de la même période l’année dernière.<\/p>

Cependant, l’entreprise doit naviguer dans les défis du paysage des droits médiatiques, en particulier avec le nouvel accord médiatique de 74 milliards de dollars de la NBA, qui pourrait avoir un impact sur les revenus des médias locaux. Les dirigeants de MSGS ont exprimé leurs préoccupations quant à l’évolution de l’environnement médiatique, qui pourrait affecter leur réseau sportif régional, MSG Networks, qui fait face à une échéance de dette importante dans un avenir proche.<\/p>

« Nous évaluons l’impact que ces nouveaux accords de droits pourraient avoir sur d’autres domaines de notre activité, notamment sur les recettes des droits médiatiques locaux », a déclaré Victoria Mink, directrice financière de MSGS via Sportico<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>

Un avenir tout aussi prometteur ?<\/h3>

Les Knicks ont effectué des mouvements clés dans leur effectif en re-signant Jalen Brunson<\/a> et en ajoutant l’ailier OG Anunoby, ainsi qu’en acquérant Mikal Bridges. Les Rangers ont également renforcé leur équipe en recrutant le vainqueur de la Coupe Stanley 2023, Reilly Smith.<\/p>

Malgré la solide performance financière de l’entreprise, les dirigeants de MSGS ont laissé entendre la possibilité de vendre une participation minoritaire, reconnaissant que le prix actuel de l’action pourrait ne pas refléter pleinement la valeur de ces franchises sportives emblématiques.<\/p>
