La communauté du football est en deuil suite à la mort prématurée d’Andre Seldon Jr., un cornerback de 22 ans de Utah State, qui s’est noyé tragiquement au réservoir de Porcupine samedi.<\/h2>

Andre Seldon avait récemment été transféré à l’Utah State en provenance de New Mexico State et devait commencer ses cours au prochain semestre d’automne.<\/p>

L’incident s’est produit lors d’une sortie de plongeon depuis une falaise, où Andre Seldon n’est pas remonté à la surface après un saut. Malgré une recherche approfondie impliquant une équipe de plongeurs et un hélicoptère du Département de la Sécurité Publique de l’Utah, son corps n’a été retrouvé que plus tard dans la soirée.<\/p>

Nate Dreiling, entraîneur intérimaire et coordinateur défensif de l’Utah State, qui avait auparavant coaché Seldon au New Mexico State, a exprimé une profonde tristesse.<\/p>

“Notre programme est dévasté par la perte de l’un des nôtres”, a déclaré Dreiling<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Andre Seldon était capitaine d’équipe à New Mexico State, où il est apparu dans 28 matchs, enregistrant 98 plaquages et deux interceptions. Sa carrière au lycée Belleville au Michigan a également été brillante, ce qui l’a conduit à son premier passage à l’Université du Michigan avant de se transférer à New Mexico State avant la saison 2022.<\/p>

L’entraîneur du Michigan, Sherrone Moore, a partagé ses condoléances sur les réseaux sociaux, décrivant Seldon comme un “jeune homme formidable sur et en dehors du terrain”.<\/p>
