Alors que pour la première fois depuis que l’expansion est un sujet en NBA, Adam Silver a donné un calendrier pour l’étude des dossiers pour ajouter une ou plusieurs franchises.<\/h2>

Evidemment, Las Vegas est sur toutes les lèvres.<\/p>

Bloomberg<\/a> a donné un chiffre pour la création d’une équipe : 7 milliards de dollars. Ce montant comprend également le coût de la construction d’une nouvelle arène<\/p>

La liste des enchérisseurs potentiels pour la franchise NBA de Las Vegas est aussi impressionnante que diversifiée. En tête de liste figurent des personnalités et des organisations de haut niveau telles que LeBron James et ses soutiens financiers ou encore Shaquille O’Neal, ainsi que le géant des boissons énergétiques Red Bull.<\/p>

Reste à savoir si pour faire baisser le coût de création, l’utilisation de la T-Mobile Arena, salle des Golden Knights en NHL, ne pourrait pas être partagée avec la future franchises, comme cela se fait à Boston ou New-York par exemple.<\/p>

Vegas a aussi montré sa capacité à gagner avec le double sacre des Aces en WNBA et la Coupe Stanley 2023 remportée par les Golden Knights.<\/p>

Les contrats TV qui changent tout<\/h3>

La décision d’étendre la NBA intervient alors que la valorisation des équipes dans les grandes ligues sportives américaines est en plein essor. Las Vegas, déjà ville d’accueil d’équipes de la NFL, de la NHL et de la WNBA, et bientôt d’une équipe de la MLB, représente une opportunité unique.<\/p>

La prochaine vente des Celtics donnera sans doute un référentiel pour Adam Silver sur le ticket d’entrée à débourser.<\/p>

Alors que la NBA finalise ses accords médiatiques, qui devraient générer environ 75 milliards de dollars<\/a>, la ligue se concentrera sur l’expansion, avec Las Vegas et Seattle comme principaux candidats.<\/p>
