Les Los Angeles Lakers ont sélectionné Dalton Knecht du Tennessee avec le choix numéro 17.<\/h2>

Rob Pelinka, vice-président des opérations de basketball et directeur général des Lakers, a exprimé son étonnement et sa satisfaction concernant cette sélection, indiquant que la franchise n’avait pas prévu que Knecht soit disponible à ce stade du repêchage.<\/p>

« Dans mon esprit, il n’y a aucune chance qu’un joueur comme lui soit disponible pour nous le soir de la draft », a déclaré le vice-président des opérations basket et manager général des Lakers, Rob Pelinka.<\/a> « Dans l’ensemble, on ne peut pas être plus heureux. »<\/p><\/blockquote>

À 23 ans, Dalton Knecht<\/strong><\/a> a eu une saison impressionnante avec les Volunteers, affichant une moyenne de 21,7 points avec un pourcentage de réussite de 49,9%, dont 39,7% à trois points. Knecht a joué un rôle clé en menant Tennessee au Elite Eight du tournoi NCAA, où il a marqué 37 points lors d’un match éliminatoire contre Purdue, tête de série numéro 1.<\/p>

Bien qu’il ait été projeté en sixième position par les Charlotte Hornets dans le mock draft d’ESPN, Knecht est tombé aux Lakers au 17e rang. Pelinka a révélé que leur tableau de bord interne plaçait Knecht dans le top 10, rendant sa disponibilité au 17e rang surprenante et chanceuse pour l’équipe.<\/p>

Sa sélection représente également la première décision importante pour les Lakers sous la direction de leur nouvel entraîneur, JJ Redick, qui a déjà commencé à envisager des stratégies pour Dalton Knecht, établissant des comparaisons entre les capacités de tir de Knecht et son propre style de jeu.<\/p>
