Lors d’une cérémonie émouvante à Oracle Park, les San Francisco Giants ont rendu hommage à l’une des plus grandes légendes du baseball, Willie Mays.<\/h2>

L’événement d’avant-match, organisé lors du premier match à domicile des Giants depuis le décès de Mays à l’âge de 93 ans, a été un rappel poignant de l’héritage durable du membre du Hall of Fame.<\/p>

La cérémonie de 30 minutes a présenté un montage vidéo émouvant mettant en lumière les moments les plus mémorables de la carrière illustre de Mays.<\/p>

Le commentateur des Giants, Mike Krukow, a résumé<\/a> avec l’influence étendue de Mays, déclarant :<\/p>

“Il a conquis des cœurs sur la côte Est, il a conquis des cœurs sur la côte Ouest, et partout entre les deux.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Les Giants, portant le numéro emblématique 24 de Mays, ont affronté les Chicago Cubs dans un match qui avait une signification particulière. Le poids émotionnel de l’hommage semblait alimenter l’équipe, menant à une victoire sur le fil de 5-4 qui a mis fin à une série de cinq défaites consécutives.<\/p>

Le manager des Giants, Bob Melvin, a placé Willie Mays au centre de cette victoire importante :<\/p>

Les records de Mays avec les Giants restent inégalés.<\/p>

Au cours de ses 21 saisons, il a accumulé 646 home runs, 3 187 hits, 1 289 coups de plus d’un but, et a joué dans 2 857 matchs, entre autres records.<\/p>
