JJ Redick a été officiellement présenté par les Lakers comme le nouveau head coach de la franchise hier.<\/h2>

Face à la presse JJ Redick a répondu à de nombreuses questions autour de Dan Hurley mais aussi de son inexpérience en NBA au niveau du coaching. Pour celui qui remplace Darvin Ham, cette inexpérience n’est pas à prendre en compte :<\/p>

« Je n’ai aucune expérience en tant qu’entraîneur en NBA », a déclaré JJ Redick<\/a>. « Mais je dirais que j’ai beaucoup d’expérience. Et cela a commencé il y a 22 ans quand je suis allé à Duke et que j’ai eu l’occasion de jouer pour Coach K pendant quatre ans, et j’ai passé 15 ans en tant que joueur. Honnêtement, les trois dernières années ont été inestimables pour me préparer à ce moment. »<\/p>\n

« Je suis capable de communiquer avec les joueurs, de leur parler sur le podcast, de participer à des interviews d’entraîneurs avec ESPN, d’appeler des matchs, d’analyser le jeu dans trois formats différents. Tout cela m’a aidé à me préparer à devenir un entraîneur principal de la NBA. »<\/p><\/blockquote>

JJ Redick n’a pas été contrarié par Dan Hurley<\/h3>

Redick n’était pas la première option pour les Lakers même si son nom avait été parmi les premier à sortir après le limogeage de Ham.<\/p>

Les Lakers se sont d’abord penché sur le cas Dan Hurley, double champion avec UConn. Cependant, Hurley a refusé l’offre<\/a> ouvrant à nouveau la voie pour Redick. Avec beaucoup d’auto-dérision, JJ Redick comprend le choix des Lakers et n’est pas contrarié par cela :<\/p>

« Pendant toute cette période de quatre jours, à aucun moment mon ego ou mes sentiments n’ont été blessés ou froissés de quelque manière que ce soit », a déclaré Redick. « Dan Hurley est double champion national à UConn. Je suis deux fois champion de la 55 Swish League avec des enfants de primaire. J’ai compris, vous savez ? J’ai compris. »<\/p><\/blockquote>

Pour Redick, les choses sérieuses commencent dès mercredi avec la draft NBA 2024 durant laquelle les Lakers ont le choix n°17.<\/p>

Cette première décision ne manquera pas d’être scrutée et disséquée.<\/p>
