Anthony Edwards est peut-être le meilleur joueur des Timberwolves, mais Karl-Anthony Towns pourrait être le plus crucial pour leurs chances de remporter un championnat. <\/a><\/h2>

Jusqu’à présent, en playoffs, les Timberwolves affichent un bilan de 7-1 lorsque Karl-Anthony Towns marque au moins 18 points, et de 2-5 lorsqu’il ne les atteint pas.<\/p>

La seule fois où Karl-Anthony Towns<\/a> a marqué plus de 18 points lors d’une défaite de Minnesota, c’était lors du Game 5 contre les Nuggets en demi-finale de conférence, où ses 23 points ont été vains.<\/p>

L’importance de  Towns pour Minnesota n’a jamais été aussi évidente que lors de la victoire salvatrice 105-100 en Game 4 contre Dallas mardi. Towns a marqué 10 points dans le quatrième quart-temps alors que Minnesota a conservé son avance, renversant la tendance après ses effondrements en fin de match plus tôt dans la série.<\/p>

En comparaison, Karl-Anthony Towns a marqué 16, 15 et 14 points respectivement lors des trois premières défaites de Minnesota, avec un total de cinq points en trois quatrièmes quart-temps.<\/p>

Lors de l’émission « Get Up » sur ESPN mercredi, l’ancien joueur du Heat Udonis Haslem a félicité Karl-Anthony Towns pour avoir maintenu le cap malgré les critiques.<\/p>

« J’adore le fait qu’il ait simplement cru au travail qu’il fait en coulisses », a déclaré Haslem à propos de Karl-Anthony Towns. « Il ne s’est pas défilé. Il s’est montré, a été agressif, a marqué à tous les niveaux et a profité de chaque opportunité qu’il a eue. »<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

Pour illustrer le point de Haslem sur le fait que Towns a marqué « à tous les niveaux », la star des Timberwolves n’a pas simplement tenté des tirs à trois points comme il l’a fait lors des trois premiers matchs.<\/p>

En fait, Towns n’a tenté un tir à trois points en Game 4 que tard en seconde mi-temps. Jay Williams a également loué Karl-Anthony Towns pour avoir davantage pénétré dans la peinture.<\/p>
