Derrick White est devenu le cinquième joueur de l’histoire des playoffs à réussir au moins 20 tirs à trois points lors de trois matchs consécutifs.<\/a><\/h2>

Derrick White<\/a> a été interrogé pour savoir s’il se sentait dans une bonne dynamique.<\/p>

« Je dirais que oui », a répondu White avec un sourire, après sa performance de 25 points qui a propulsé les Boston Celtics vers une victoire convaincante de 120 à 95 contre les Cleveland Cavaliers lors du match 1 de leur série demi-finale de la Conférence Est mardi soir.<\/p>

« Ça fait du bien… Je veux juste aider l’équipe à gagner. »<\/p><\/blockquote>

White a certainement rempli cet objectif lors du match 1. Il a poursuivi sa série impressionnante de tirs en début de ces playoffs en réussissant 7 tirs sur 12 de loin – dont 4 sur 6 au troisième quart-temps, où il a inscrit 14 points – portant son total à 20 sur 37 (54 %) lors des trois derniers matchs de playoffs des Celtics.<\/p>

Il rejoint désormais un groupe d’élite de joueurs ayant réussi 20 tirs à trois points ou plus sur une période de trois matchs en séries éliminatoires, aux côtés de Stephen Curry (trois fois), Klay Thompson (2016), Jamal Murray (2020) et Damian Lillard (2021 et 2024 combinés).<\/p>

La forme étincelante de Derrick White a été cruciale pour sceller la victoire des Celtics, qui affichent désormais un bilan de 5-1 dans ces playoffs, faisant du match 1 une rencontre qui ressemblait plus à une confrontation de novembre ou décembre qu’à la première semaine de mai.<\/p>

Interrogé sur l’importance du tir agressif de Derrick White pour l’attaque des Celtics, l’entraîneur des Celtics, Joe Mazzulla, a souligné son importance.<\/p>

« C’est crucial car cela signifie généralement que les tirs qu’il prend sont soit des opportunités en transition, de bons écrans, soit des mouvements de balle efficaces conduisant à des tirs ouverts », a expliqué Mazzulla. « Ainsi, lorsque nos joueurs ont plus de tentatives de tirs, cela indique que nous exécutons efficacement différentes phases de notre attaque, ce qui est primordial contre un adversaire de qualité comme celui-ci. »<\/p><\/blockquote>

Le talent offensif de Derrick White a également créé des opportunités pour Jaylen Brown, qui a explosé pour 32 points sur 12 tirs sur 18, accompagnés de six rebonds et de deux passes décisives, avec seulement une perte de balle. Brown et White ont orchestré une attaque puissante des Celtics qui a dicté ses conditions contre une équipe des Cavaliers encore secouée par un match 7 épuisant contre le Orlando Magic seulement 48 heures auparavant.<\/p>
