Première équipe à 20 victoire cette saison, les Phillies doivent aborder un sujet autour de leur rotation et notamment de Spencer Turnbull.<\/h2>

Malgré l’ERA impressionnante de Spencer Turnbull<\/strong><\/a> à 1.67, le plaçant au quatrième rang de la Ligue nationale, les Phillies semblent prêts à modifier son rôle au sein de la rotation. L’exploration par l’équipe d’une stratégie de lancer « en tandem » n’est pas juste une expérience ; c’est un ajustement calculé qui pourrait redéfinir l’utilisation du bullpen.<\/p>

Le manager Rob Thomson a laissé entendre qu’il associerait Turnbull à un autre lanceur, potentiellement Cristopher Sánchez. Cette approche verrait Sánchez débuter le match et lancer jusqu’à cinq manches avant que Turnbull prenne le relais pour trois ou quatre manches.<\/p>

Cette stratégie de tandem peut sembler inhabituelle, mais elle est ancrée dans le pragmatisme.<\/p>

Elle permet à Turnbull de maintenir son rythme et son endurance en tant que lanceur de plusieurs manches tout en étant préservé pour un rôle de partant à temps plein plus tard dans la saison.<\/p>

Notamment, Turnbull, qui se remet d’une chirurgie Tommy John et a manqué beaucoup de temps lors des dernières saisons, pourrait bénéficier d’un calendrier de lancer moins traditionnel, mais stratégiquement rigoureux.<\/p>

Les implications d’une telle stratégie vont au-delà des performances individuelles.<\/p>

En ne s’engageant pas dans une rotation à six hommes, les Phillies peuvent éviter des jours de repos excessifs pour des partants comme Zack Wheeler et Aaron Nola, qui préfèrent la régularité d’une rotation de cinq jours.<\/p>
