Menés 3-0 face aux Timberwolves de Minnesota, les Suns de Phoenix devaient impérativement gagner ce Game 4 pour rester en vie dans cette série éliminatoire de conférence Ouest.<\/h2>

Cependant, Anthony Edwards et les Timberwolves n’ont laissé aucune chance aux Suns d’éviter le sweep.<\/p>

C’est la première série de Playoffs que remportent les Timberwolves de Minnesota depuis 2004 grâce notamment à une nouvelle performance impressionnante de la part d’Anthony Edwards, auteur de 40 points lors du Game 4 d’hier soir contre les Suns.<\/p>

Après le match, son coéquipier Karl-Anthony Towns s’est exprimé :<\/p>

« Je ne pourrais pas être plus heureux. Je ne pourrais pas être plus heureux, d’une part, d’obtenir une victoire, et enfin de me débarrasser du singe sur le dos à propos du premier tour ».<\/p><\/blockquote>

Edwards, qui a été impressionnant tout au long du match, a été décisif durant le quatrième quart-temps, en marquant 16 points, dont un panier crucial à 4 minutes et 13 secondes de la fin ce qui a permis aux Timberwolves de prendre l’avantage qu’ils n’ont jamais perdu par la suite.<\/p>

Le match a été serré jusqu’au bout, avec des Wolves déterminés à répondre à chaque coup porté par les Suns. Malgré une première mi-temps difficile, où ils ont tiré a seulement 38 %, les Wolves ont su garder le rythme grâce a une solide performance en deuxième mi-temps.<\/p>

Anthony Edwards<\/strong><\/a>, en particulier, a brillé avec 31 points en seconde période. Il a été soutenu par Karl-Anthony Towns, qui a livré sa meilleure performance de la série avec 28 points et 10 rebonds.<\/p>

Anthony Edwards s’est exprimé<\/a> en conférence d’après-match :<\/p>

« J’étais juste ultra-agressif, mec. La première mi-temps, j’ai impliqué tous mes coéquipiers et c’était à peu près le plan de match. »<\/p><\/blockquote>

A 2 minutes et 14 secondes de la fin du match, Edwards s’est même permis de s’offrir un « poster » sur Kevin Durant. « J’étais fou comme l’enfer. J’étais en colère » à déclaré Edwards à propos de cette séquence.<\/p>

Kevin Durant s’est également exprimé sur la jeune star des Timberwolves :<\/p>

« Je suis tellement impressionné par Ant. C’est mon joueur préféré à regarder. Il a tellement grandi depuis qu’il est entré dans la ligue. Son amour pour le jeu brille. J’adore tout sur Ant. Tout. »<\/p><\/blockquote>

La relation entre Edwards et son coach Chris Finch a été une grande raison pour laquelle les Timberwolves de Minnesota sont là aujourd’hui : « Je suis honnête. Au début, c’était comme, de haut en bas. Il ne veut pas que je fasse ça. Nous nous battons. Ce qui est comme une relation régulière entraîneur-joueur. Mais probablement à la fin de ma deuxième année, en entrant dans ces séries éliminatoires, nous avons gagné la confiance de l’autre. Nous avons décollé depuis.<\/p>

Les Timberwolves de Minnesota, plus que jamais armés pour décrocher le titre, affronterons le gagnant de la série opposant les Lakers aux Nuggets en demi-finale de conférence Ouest.<\/p>
