Hier soir, lors de la victoire 125-114 des 76ers de Philadelphie contre les Knicks de New York comptant pour le Game 3, Joel Embiid a commis une faute flagrante sur le pivot des Knicks Mitchell Robinson dans le premier quart, ce qui n’a pas plus aux joueurs New-Yorkais.<\/h2>

Le meneur de jeu des Knicks, Donte DiVincenzo a qualifié ce geste de « sale » en conférence de presse d’après-match. Josh Hart, l’ailier des Knicks de New York a ajouté <\/a><\/p>

« Nous sommes juste heureux que Mitch n’ait pas eu de blessure sérieuse à cause de ça. »<\/p><\/blockquote>

L’action a eu lieu lorsqu’il restait 4 minutes 34 de jeu dans le premier quart-temps, Embiid est tombé au sol en essayant de provoquer une faute offensive, puis a attrapé la jambe droite de Robinson en atterrissant à proximité, ce qui a fait chuter le pivot des Knicks sur le pivot des Sixers.<\/p>

La situation a été examinée pour déterminer s’il s’agissait d’une faute flagrante de niveau 1 ou 2. Finalement, l’arbitre Zach Zarba l’a jugée flagrante de niveau 1 en déclarant :<\/p>

« Le contact non nécessaire était suffisant pour une faute flagrante de niveau 1, mais nous étions unanimes pour dire que cela ne correspondait pas à un contact excessif et non nécessaire, ce qui aurait été une faute flagrante de niveau 2. ».<\/p><\/blockquote>

Joel Embiid, quant à lui, a déclaré après le match :<\/p>

« Je dois me protéger, car j’ai été dans trop de situations où je suis toujours la victime. Ils veulent apporter de la physicalité. Nous pouvons être physiques aussi, et nous le sommes. ».<\/p><\/blockquote>

Désormais, les Knicks de New York sont incertains quant à l’état de Mitchell Robinson pour la suite de la série, ce qui pourrait poser problème pour défendre Joel Embiid<\/strong><\/a>, auteur de 50 points hier soir.<\/p>
