Caitlin Clark a été sélectionnée en première position de la Draft WNBA 2024. Combien l’ancienne joueuse des Hawkeyes va gagner avec son équipe ?<\/h2>

C’est désormais officiel ! Caitlin Clark débarque en WNBA<\/a>. Après une carrière chez les Iowa Hawkeyes qui a attiré tous les regards, c’est maintenant l’heure pour elle de signer un contrat professionnel.<\/p>

Clark était un des joueuses qui a gagné le plus d’argent en NCAA, c’est devenue une vraie sensation et une icône du sport. Elle a pu signer de nombreux partenariats quand elle était étudiante.<\/p>

Voici les détails de son contrat de rookie : <\/strong><\/p>

Caitlin Clark va gagner 338 056 dollars sur quatre ans avec le Fever.<\/p>

2024 : $76,535<\/p>

2025: $78,066<\/p>

2026: $85,873<\/p>

2027 (4ème année en option): $97,582<\/p>

Un salaire qui choque<\/h3>

La popularité de Caitlin Clark dans la société<\/a> a permis de poser tous les regards sur la WNBA<\/a>. Ainsi l’opinion publique s’est montrée choquée de la faible somme que va toucher Clark. Même si son salaire peut paraître conséquent, à l’échelle de ce que l’on peut gagner aux Etats-Unis il n’est pas si élevé. Elle va toucher par exemple moins qu’un policier ou qu’un enseignant. Même si ces deux professions sont capitales dans une société, ce n’est pas de genre de salaire que l’on attend chez un sportif professionnel.<\/p>

La différence entre la NBA et la WNBA en terme de salaire pour les rookies est absolument abyssale. A titre de comparaison, le premier choix de la Draft NBA 2024 va toucher 10 millions de dollars, 7 millions pour la NFL. C’est un salaire 29 fois plus élevé pour un joueur de NBA.<\/p>

Les salaires en WNBA sont négociés entre les syndicats et la ligue. Le salaire minimum est placé autour des 60 000 dollars et les plus élevés à 200 000 minimum. Une nouvelle fois l’écart de salaire avec les autres sports est énorme.<\/p>

Caitlin Clark pourrait être un vecteur de changement. Quand on voit par exemple le combat qui a été mené par l’équipe féminine de football aux Etats-Unis pour l’égalité des salaires entre les hommes et les femmes, on peut espérer que la popularité de Caitlin Clark permette de revoir ces salaires pour permettre à toutes les joueuses d’en profiter.<\/p>
