Les playoffs sont souvent le juge de paix sur l’avenir des entraîneurs en NBA et JB Bickerstaff pourrait ne pas échapper à cette règle.<\/h2>

Actuellement 5è de la conférence Est, les Cavaliers vont tenter d’aller chercher une première victoire dans une série de playoffs depuis 2018, lorsque LeBron James était encore présent. Mais avec 3 matchs restant dont un particulièrement important face aux Pacers, les Cavaliers n’ont pas le droit à l’erreur s’ils veulent avoir l’avantage du terrain pour le premier tour.<\/p>

Avec une saison faite de haut et de bas, JB Bickerstaff est sans doute sur un siège éjectable en cas de mauvais résultats en playoffs selon un dirigeant de la NBA :<\/p>

« JB pourrait être licencié si les Cavs n’atteignent pas la finale de la conférence », a déclaré un cadre de la NBA à Hoops Wire<\/a>. « Il a failli être licencié plus tôt dans la saison avant que l’équipe ne se ressaisisse. Il y a des gens au sein de cette organisation qui ne peuvent pas comprendre comment une équipe avec Donovan Mitchell et Darius Garland est si peu capable de marquer le ballon.<\/p>\n

« JB est à 100% sur la sellette et il le sait. »<\/p><\/blockquote>

Avec Donovan Mitchell<\/strong><\/a> et Darius garland, les cavaliers ont les armes pour être compétitifs dans cette conférence Est qui n’est vraiment dominée que par les Celtics. Mais les absences répétées pour blessures de l’un ou de l’autre ont largement perturbé l’équipe et sa capacité à performer de manière régulière.<\/p>

Les cavaliers ont réalisé une poussée importante à partir du 15 décembre 2023. À ce moment la de la saison, les Cavaliers venaient de perdre face à Boston deux fois de suite et avait un bilan de 13-12. Deux mois plus tard, le 15 février, les Cavaliers affichaient un bilan de 36-17 soit 23-5 sur les 28 matchs disputés, preuve de leur capacité à enchaîner les victoires.<\/p>

Donovan Mitchell était entré dans un mode presque MVP pour porter cette équipe sur ses épaules.<\/p>

Mais au moment où cela compte le plus, les Cavaliers semblent ralentir. Avec un bilan de 46-33 au 8 avril, ils n’ont remporté que 10 des 26 matchs disputés depuis le 15 février.<\/p>

Avec l’avenir de Donovan Mitchell en suspens, celui de Bickerstaff est intimement lié à la réussite de son équipe à compter du 20 avril.<\/p>
