Depuis son arrivée en NBA en tant que numéro 1 de draft, DeAndre Ayton n’a suscité que des questionnements sur sa capacité à être un joueur de trè§s haut niveau.<\/h2>

Aux Suns, il a souvent alterné le bon et le moins bon conduisant tout de même à une grosse prolongation de contrat et finalement à un départ vers Portland en échange de Jusuf Nurkic.<\/p>

Mais les récentes performances de Deandre Ayton<\/strong><\/a> ont été rien de moins qu’impressionnantes. Marquant 33 points avec 19 rebonds dans une victoire contre les Atlanta Hawks et enchaînant avec des performances tout aussi impressionnantes contre les Boston Celtics et les Toronto Raptors, Ayton a clairement fait part de ses intentions : dominer.<\/p>

Cette série de matchs l’a vu atteindre constamment au moins 20 points et 10 rebonds, preuve d’une capacité à dominer le jeu.<\/p>

« Je pense que nous l’avons débloqué et que nous obtenons la meilleure version de lui offensivement, c’est certain », a déclaré Chauncey Billups<\/a>, l’entraîneur des Blazers, à la presse. « Il a été un monstre. Il a été un monstre sur ce panier. Il a été partout. Il a été super, super efficace évidemment. Il a été génial. Et je pense que nos gars suivent son exemple. Il nous a beaucoup apporté. »<\/p><\/blockquote>

La résurgence d’Ayton est particulièrement remarquable compte tenu du contexte de sa carrière.<\/p>

Depuis son échange des Phoenix Suns, où son potentiel brillait par intermittence mais ne s’est jamais vraiment allumé, Ayton a trouvé une nouvelle vie à Portland. Ses performances ont été une révélation, montrant un joueur non seulement plus agressif en attaque mais aussi plus déterminé et efficace.<\/p>

Ce qui rend l’ascension de DeAndre Ayton encore plus convaincante, ce sont les éléments intangibles qu’il apporte à l’équipe. Son alchimie avec Anfernee Simons, construite sur d’innombrables heures d’étude de film et de synergie sur le terrain, est devenue une pierre angulaire de la stratégie offensive des Blazers.<\/p>

Ayton lui-même décrit leur connexion comme « allumée », un témoignage de la communication fluide et de la compréhension entre le duo. DeAndre Ayton veut dominer mais aussi qu’on se souvienne de lui comme un gagnant :<\/p>

« J’essaie d’être un gagnant dans cette ligue », a-t-il déclaré. « J’essaie d’être connu comme ce type. Si vous me côtoyez, vous apprendrez à gagner ».<\/p><\/blockquote>

Gagner c’est ce que les Blazers ont fait la nuit dernière face à Atlanta justement.<\/p>
