Les Golden Knights de Vegas ont acquis l’attaquant Anthony Mantha des Capitals de Washington en échange d’un choix de deuxième tour 2024 et d’un choix de quatrième tour en 2026.<\/h2>

Vegas, qui avait besoin d’un ailier, en a trouvé un en la personne d’Anthony Mantha<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>

L’acquisition d’un attaquant capable de marquer des buts était considérée comme une priorité pour les champions en titre de la Coupe Stanley, mais elle s’est concrétisée lundi. C’est alors que le capitaine et ailier gauche Mark Stone<\/a>, qui souffre d’une blessure au haut du corps, a été placé sur la liste des blessés à long terme.<\/p>

Les Capitals conservent 50 % du salaire de Mantha, ce qui donne aux Golden Knights la flexibilité de faire d’autres mouvements avant la trade deadline des échanges dans la NHL, vendredi. Placer Stone dans cette Injury Reserver a permis aux Golden Knights de créer une marge de manœuvre supplémentaire de 7,2 millions de dollars, selon le site Web CapFriendly.<\/p>

Mantha a inscrit 20 buts et 14 passes en 56 matchs cette saison. C’est la première fois depuis la campagne 2018-19 qu’il atteint le seuil des 20 buts.<\/p>

Le joueur de 29 ans en est à la dernière année de la prolongation de quatre ans et 22,8 millions de dollars qu’il a signée avec les Red Wings de Détroit en 2020, lui qui a passé la première partie de sa carrière dans le Michigan, avant d’être échangé en 2021. <\/span><\/p>

Bien qu’il n’ait jamais été à la hauteur des attentes à Washington avant cette saison, il devrait être un atout intéressant pour Las Vegas, champion en titre, qui cherche à se préparer à une nouvelle participation aux playoffs. L’équipe est actuellement troisième de la division Pacifique avec 73 points, un point seulement au-dessus des Kings de Los Angeles, et connaît une moins bonne phase que lors du début de saison. <\/span><\/p>

Les Capitals, quant à eux, n’ont que 65 points en saison et sont à sept points de la Wild Card. Il semble qu’ils soient plus susceptibles d’être vendeurs qu’acheteurs, une approche que le directeur général Brian MacLellan a laissé entendre samedi.<\/p>

« Je pense que notre priorité est l’avenir de notre club », a déclaré Mantha aux journalistes. « Toutes les décisions seront prises en fonction de cela. Nous sommes ici pour chercher des opportunités de trouver de jeunes joueurs, d’ajouter de jeunes joueurs à notre équipe et d’être compétitifs, toujours compétitifs. »<\/p><\/blockquote>
