Les Minnesota Vikings ont annoncé hier avoir embauché Josh McCown, ancien joueur de NFL pendant 18 ans, au poste d’entraîneur des quarterbacks. Ce sera sa deuxième expérience en tant qu’entraîneur assistant en NFL. <\/strong><\/h2>

 <\/strong><\/p>

Le printemps est donc agité du côté des Vikings. En plus des incertitudes autour de Jefferson et de Cousins, la chambre des quarterbacks va aussi connaître du mouvement.<\/p>

Josh McCown, transfuge des Carolina Panthers, a posé ses affaires dans le nord des États-Unis<\/a>. Il formait en Caroline du Sud un duo de rookies avec Bryce Young qu’il n’a manifestement pas réussi à développer pleinement l’an passé. McCown connaîtra ainsi sa deuxième équipe pour sa deuxième saison en tant qu’entraîneur assistant.<\/p>

McCown est déjà un habitué des transferts d’une équipe à l’autre en NFL. En effet, au cours de sa longue carrière de 18 ans en tant que quarterback en NFL le joueur d’1m93 aura connu 9 équipes. Drafté par les Cardinals où il restera quatre saisons, il a ensuité vagabondé entre Raiders, Lions, Panthers et Bears notamment.<\/p>

Il n’a en revanche jamais enfilé le maillot violet des Vikings au cours de sa carrière. Il a cependant affronté les Vikings 4 fois en carrière pour un bilan de 2 victoires pour autant de défaites. Son bilan en carrière s’élève à 27 victoires pour 75 défaites.<\/p>

Sa meilleure saison en NFL reste celle de 2015 lorsqu’il lançait pour les Browns de Cleveland<\/a>. Il a comptabilisé cette année-là 2 109 yards pour une moyenne de 263.6 yards par match, son record en carrière.<\/p>

Il ne jouera qu’un seul match de Playoffs en carrière, le 5 Janvier 2020, lors d’une défaite sous le maillot des Eagles, qui sera son dernier match en carrière.<\/p>

McCown va donc apporter toute son expérience et sa connaissance du poste et devrait travailler avec Kirk Cousins (du moins c’est ce qu’espère les Vikings), lui aussi expérimenté.<\/p>

Il sera désormais intéressant de voir si cette décision pourra influencer ou nom la décision de Cousins et des Vikings concernant la reconduction de son contrat.<\/p>
