L’info nous est parvenue cette après-midi, l’ancien défenseur des Canadiens de Montréal est décédé aujourd’hui, à l’âge de 91 ans.<\/h2>

Une histoire en or :<\/strong><\/p>

Avec un peu plus de 1000 matchs dans la NHL, Jean-Guy Talbot aura participé à 791 d’entre eux avec le Canadien, le tout en 13 ans chez les tricolores. Il a côtoyé les plus grands, Maurice Richard, Jacques Plante ou encore Jean Béliveau pour ne citer qu’eux et aura remporté 7 Coupe Stanley, dont 5 d’affilées (entre les années 1956 et 1960), toutes avec le Canadien.<\/p>

En avril 2020, il avait déclaré ceci<\/a>  :<\/p>

« Nos cinq coupes consécutives représentent un record qui ne sera jamais battu, et ça donne un sentiment agréable […] Nous étions une famille. Après chaque match, nous allions manger ensemble, avec nos femmes, prendre quelques verres. Puis, nous retournions à la maison et étions de retour sur la patinoire la journée suivante. »<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>

Talbot a écopé de plus de 1000 minutes de pénalités en 1056 matchs, mais aussi de 285 points. Il est l’une des nombreuses légendes de Montréal.<\/p>

D’autres horizons :<\/strong><\/p>

Jean-Guy Talbot n’a pas joué qu’au Canadien, en effet, il a joué pour les Minnesota North Stars (actuellement les Dallas Stars), les Détroit Red Wings, les Saint-Louis Blues et les Buffalo Sabres.<\/p>

Il n’aura pas connu le même succès qu’à Montréal dans ses autres destinations et aura choisi de prendre sa retraite à l’âge de 38 ans. Il deviendra par la suite entraîneur, d’abord pour les Denver Spurs, qui évoluaient en WHL, puis pour les Saint-Louis Blues avant de refaire un passage en NHL chez les New York Rangers.<\/p>

Actuellement, les hommages se multiplient en son honneur et certains espèrent que le parc des Chenaux à Trois-Rivières, soit rebaptisé en son honneur.<\/p>

Beaucoup espèrent que le numéro 17 soit définitivement retiré chez le Canadien, mais ce n’est pas encore prévu, en attendant, un hommage sera prévu au Centre Bell, dans l’Arena du Canadien.<\/p>

Il restera à tout jamais une légende de Montréal.<\/p>
