NBA – Sans crier gare, les Raptors et les Knicks ont donné un petit coup de boost à la fin d’année 2023 avec l’échange de RJ Barrett et OG Anunoby.<\/h2>

L’un retrouve son pays natal et l’autre part dans un bien plus gros marché où les attentes placées en lui sont importantes. Mais du point de vue de son ancien coach universitaire, Tom Crean, OG Anunoby<\/strong><\/a> ne pouvait pas mieux tomber à New-York et sera parfaitement adapté à cette nouvelle équipe.<\/p>

« Il ne fait aucun doute qu’il s’intégrera dans le tissu de la ville et des Knicks », a déclaré Crean via le NY Post<\/a>. « Il a le jeu, il a beaucoup de substance dans son jeu, il a du style dans son jeu, il travaille et fait la différence des deux côtés, et surtout, il est ce qu’il est. New York a toujours adopté cette combinaison, ce type de joueur. »<\/p>\n

« Il ne va pas faire de déclarations fracassantes, mais il va être un très bon représentant de cette équipe et de cette ville en raison de ce qu’il est. C’est une vieille âme à bien des égards, une personne très attentionnée, mais il est incroyablement motivé. Je dirais presque que c’est une volonté insatiable d’être grand et de gagner. »<\/p><\/blockquote>

Crean ajoute même que Tom Thibodeau adorera être son entraîneur.<\/p>

Un sentiment de revanche<\/h3>

OG Anunoby n’a pas participer au run des Raptors vers leur titre en raison d’une appendicite en Avril 2019 créant sans doute un désir de revanche.<\/p>

« Je crois que cela a créé une faim incroyable chez lui parce qu’il n’était pas sur le terrain pour cela », a déclaré Crean. « C’est un peu comme si, oui, il avait obtenu la bague et avait joué un rôle important tout au long de la saison, mais dans son esprit, il n’avait pas ressenti le niveau de la victoire.<\/p>\n

« Il était présent dans l’équipe et avait contribué à atteindre ce stade, mais il n’était pas sur le terrain à la fin, et je pense que c’est ce qu’il veut vraiment plus que tout. C’est ce qui le motive ».<\/p><\/blockquote>

Tout cela rend OG Anunoby vraiment à part. Un joueur avec de la hargne sur le terrain avec une réelle volonté de défendre, tout ce qu’aime Thibodeau. Cet esprit conquérant, les Knicks en auront besoin pour la deuxième moitié de la saison.<\/p>

Son arrivée doit permettre à la franchise de franchir un nouveau cap dans la conférence Est et de pouvoir rivaliser avec les mastodontes que sont Boston, Philadlephie et Milwaukee.<\/p>
