NBA – Le in-season tournament a mis en lumière une question controversée : l’utilisation des différentiels de points cumulés comme moyen de départage.<\/h2>

Cette méthode, bien que standard dans le jeu international, comme lors de la Coupe du Monde FIBA, a suscité des débats en raison de sa contradiction avec les tie-breaker traditionnellement utilisés en NBA. La règle encourage les équipes à maximiser leurs marges de score.<\/p>

Cela a mené notamment les Celtics à ne pas reposer leur titulaire face aux Bulls, lors de la dernière journée du premier tour pour les battre le plus largement possible. Ils avaient ainsi éliminé le Magic, qui les avait portant battus durant la phase de groupe.<\/p>

Le commissaire de la NBA, Adam Silver, reconnaît le dilemme. Bien qu’il ne soit pas entièrement convaincu d’abandonner la règle, il exprime son inquiétude quant à sa perception comme antisportive, en particulier parmi les fans américains.<\/p>

Propositions alternatives et réactions<\/h3>

La communauté des joueurs et les figures de la ligue ont exprimé leur désapprobation du système actuel. En réponse, plusieurs alternatives ont été suggérées. Une idée populaire est de plafonner le différentiel de points qu’une équipe peut gagner par match, avec des chiffres comme 25 points proposés. Ce plafond maintiendrait la compétitivité tout en évitant des scores excessivement déséquilibrés.<\/p>

Une autre suggestion intéressante est d’utiliser les points accordés comme moyen de départage, déplaçant l’accent du score agressif à une défense robuste. Cela pourrait favoriser une approche plus équilibrée du jeu, encourageant les équipes à défendre avec diligence tout au long du match.<\/p>

De plus, certains proposent de compter le nombre de quarts-temps remportés par une équipe comme une alternative plus équitable et sans pression.<\/p>

Ce premier tournoi dresse un bilan plutôt positif et a été plutôt très bien accueillis. Tout n’est pas parfait mais la NBA a sans doute fait mouche avec ce premier In-Season Tournament.<\/p>
