Pour un court moment en 2021, le monde de la NFL a été agité par la possibilité de son retour chez les New Orleans Saints. Cependant, cette spéculation fut de courte durée. Lors d’une conversation sur ESPN Radio, Brees a partagé un fait crucial, bien que décourageant, sur son état physique après la retraite : l’incapacité d’utiliser son bras droit pour lancer.<\/p>

« Je vais vous révéler un petit fait », a déclaré Brees, via ESPN.com<\/a>. « Je ne lance plus avec mon bras droit. Mon bras droit ne fonctionne pas. Donc, quand je lance dans le jardin en ce moment, je lance de la main gauche ».<\/p><\/blockquote>

Cette révélation a non seulement mis fin à toute éventualité de retour, mais a également mis en lumière les réalités souvent dures auxquelles les athlètes sont confrontés après leur carrière.<\/p>

La blessure<\/h4>

L’origine des défis physiques de Drew Brees remonte à une grave blessure lors de son dernier match avec les San Diego Chargers en 2005.<\/p>

Une épaule déboîtée, nécessitant une chirurgie et une rééducation extensive, a été un tournant. Cela a conduit à son départ des Chargers et a par la suite jeté le doute parmi d’autres équipes concernant son avenir dans le sport.<\/p>

Les Miami Dolphins ont notamment refusé de le signer, une décision qui a fait l’objet de controverses et de regrets, surtout compte tenu des succès ultérieurs de Brees. Cependant, ce moment crucial ne marquait pas la fin pour Brees. Au contraire, il a marqué le début de son passage légendaire avec les Saints, une période soulignée par une victoire au Super Bowl et de nombreux records, cimentant son statut de membre du Hall of Fame.<\/p>
