Smith.&nbsp;<\/p><p>According to &lsquo;The Athletic&rsquo;, Sharpe was released by the network just a couple of weeks after the former tight end settled a lawsuit against him by his former partner.&nbsp;<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Was Sharpe Accused Of?&nbsp;<\/h2><p>The three-time Super Bowl-winning tight end was accused by his former romantic partner of sexual assault and battery. The lawsuit was filed in April this year, at which time Sharpe called it a &ldquo;shakedown&rdquo;, and his attorneys even labeled the accusations as &ldquo;false and disruptive.&rdquo; He also took to social media to say that the relationship between the two was &ldquo;100% consensual.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p><p>Since the lawsuit was filed in April, Sharpe had decided to stay away from his job and did not appear on ESPN&rsquo;s First Take. He claimed that he wanted to spend more time with his family as well as deal with the matter at hand. After protracted and respectful negotiations, I&rsquo;m pleased to announce that we have reached a mutually agreed upon resolution.
