And, if that is not enough, this is also the time when analysts and experts of the game make bold predictions or put out highly controversial takes.&nbsp;<\/p><p>A similar incident occurred on ESPN&rsquo;s hit <a href=\"https:\/\/theplayoffs.news\/en\/nfl\/\" class=\"trk-cta-link\" data-cta-trk='{\"ctaType\":\"Link\",\"ctaSubType\":\"main\"}'>NFL <\/a>show <em>&lsquo;First Take&rsquo; <\/em>when guest analyst Mike Tannenbaum put out his list of the top 5 quarterbacks in the NFC heading into the new season.&nbsp;<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mike Tannenbaum&rsquo;s List of Top 5 NFC Quarterbacks<\/h2><p>Former executive of the Miami Dolphins and general manager of the New York Jets, turned NFL analyst, Mike Tannenbaum compiled a list of his top 5 NFC quarterbacks for the 2025-26 season.&nbsp;<\/p><p>The list left First Take&rsquo;s co-host Stephen A. Smith and Ryan Clark, a regular on the show, scratching their heads. Smith Brings Up Love&rsquo;s Inconsistency<\/h2><p>Taken aback by Tannenbaum&rsquo;s list, the most surprising aspect was seeing Jordan Love&rsquo;s name at the top of the rankings. Despite acknowledging that Love is a very good quarterback, Stephen A. Smith didn&rsquo;t hesitate to bring up some of his shortcomings that prevent the Packers&rsquo; signal caller from heading this list.<\/p><p>In fact, the longtime analyst even brought up the names of two top AFC quarterbacks, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. Per Smith, even though Jackson may have 2 MVPs to Allen&rsquo;s 1, it is the postseason inability of Lamar Jackson that has held the Ravens back. In some ways, the same is true of Love.&nbsp;<\/p><p><strong>&ldquo;Jordan Love can ball. Jordan Love is a big-time, serious talent that shrinks in big moments until further notice. When we talk about the greatness of Lamar Jackson, a three-time league MVP, why is it that some of us hold him more accountable than we do Josh Allen? Don&rsquo;t let it be you. That&rsquo;s the saying. And Josh Allen doesn&rsquo;t do that. When you look at the Buffalo Bills struggling, you don&rsquo;t look at it because of Josh Allen. This team wasn&rsquo;t stacked enough to be in that position. But somehow Jaden Daniels got the Washington Commanders to the NFC Championship, or not be able to look at Jalen Hurts and say, maybe there&rsquo;s a ton of skilled players around him, but in asked two times standing across from Patrick Mahomes to just be as good or competitive, he was better.&rdquo;<\/strong><\/p><p>In short, at the moment, it is too early to put Love at the number one spot in a list featuring all NFC quarterbacks because he still has a lot to prove. Is it possible that with his play throughout the upcoming season, he can reach the top spot?
