But even by Lewis’s wild standards, what happened after his knockout win over Tallison Teixeira at UFC<\/a> Nashville on July 12 was something completely different. After flattening his undefeated opponent in just 35 seconds at Bridgestone Arena, Lewis didn’t just celebrate with the usual antics. Instead, he found himself having a phone conversation with the President of the United States, thanks to some quick thinking from UFC boss Dana White.<\/p>

After doing his signature celebration routine, Lewis apparently asked White to get Trump on the phone. White made it happen, and suddenly the heavyweight was chatting with the commander in chief right there in the octagon!<\/p>

Lewis seemed genuinely excited about the whole experience. He explained that talking to the president was pretty cool and that they discussed business matters. When reporters asked him about the details of his chat with Trump, Lewis’s response was vintage Derrick Lewis: unexpected and slightly mysterious. He mentioned needing to talk to the president about something classified, involving terrorists and making sure his name wasn’t on some kind of list!<\/p>

“I need to talk to [Trump] about something… No man. No, it’s classified. It’s almost something about terrorists and stuff like that… I had to tell the president, “Hey, make sure they don’t have my name on that list.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>
