Manchester United remain fully focused on securing the signing of Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, with transfer talks expected to resume this week. The Premier League giants are determined to add the 25-year-old Cameroon international to Ruben Amorim’s squad ahead of a pivotal 2025–26 campaign.<\/p>

Despite no agreement being reached with Brentford last week, sources close to the negotiations suggest that United are not giving up. Mbeumo, for his part, is still prioritising a move to Old Trafford, further fuelling optimism that a deal could soon be reached.<\/p>

Shirt Number 19 Up for Grabs for Mbeumo<\/h3>

Should Mbeumo complete his switch to Manchester United, he could be in line to receive his preferred shirt number. The number 19 jersey—worn by Mbeumo at both Brentford and for the Cameroon national team—has remained vacant since Raphael Varane’s departure in 2024. The availability of the shirt only adds to the sense that United are preparing for his arrival.<\/p>

The Red Devils view Mbeumo as a key addition to their attacking options, with his pace, creativity, and eye for goal seen as perfect complements to Amorim’s tactical vision. Mbeumo scored 20 goals in the Premier League last season and has established himself as one of the division’s most reliable forwards outside the traditional top six.<\/p>

United’s Pre-Season Plans hopes to include Mbeumo<\/h3>

Time is of the essence, as United’s pre-season campaign begins on July 19 with a high-profile friendly against Leeds United in Stockholm. The team will then travel to the United States to compete in the Premier League Summer Series, where they are set to face West Ham, Bournemouth, and Everton.<\/p>

The club had hoped to integrate Mbeumo <\/a>into the squad before the pre-season tour begins. While that timeline now appears ambitious, United remain confident that a deal can be finalised before the transfer window gains full momentum.<\/p>

As talks with Brentford continue, all eyes remain on whether Manchester United can successfully close a deal for one of their top attacking targets—and offer him the chance to wear the No. 19 shirt at Old Trafford.<\/p>
