The Cowboys went 3 and out, and within no time, the offense was back on the sidelines. But why were the Cowboys&rsquo; top receivers not a part of the opening drive? Let&rsquo;s find out.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb watched the first drive from the sidelines <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/5biuaK5jYa\" class=\"trk-cta-link\" data-cta-trk='{\"ctaType\":\"Link\",\"ctaSubType\":\"main\"}'>pic.twitter.com\/5biuaK5jYa<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Barstool Sports (@barstoolsports) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/barstoolsports\/status\/1990591738902425861?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" class=\"trk-cta-link\" data-cta-trk='{\"ctaType\":\"Link\",\"ctaSubType\":\"main\"}'>November 18, 2025<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Were Lamb and Pickens Benched on MNF?<\/h2><p>During the <a href=\"https:\/\/theplayoffs.news\/en\/nfl\/\" class=\"trk-cta-link\" data-cta-trk='{\"ctaType\":\"Link\",\"ctaSubType\":\"main\"}'>Week 11<\/a> game, the sideline reporter for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/schedules\/monday-night-football\/2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"trk-cta-link\" data-cta-trk='{\"ctaType\":\"Link\",\"ctaSubType\":\"main\"}'>MNF<\/a>, Lisa Salters, tried to get further information on why the duo was benched. While Salters couldn&rsquo;t get exact clarity on the situation, she did reveal that it was not due to any injury but because of a coaching decision.&nbsp;<\/p><p><em>&ldquo;I was just told by the Cowboys&rsquo; PR that the reason that CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens were not out on the field, it was not an injury-related situation; it was strictly a coach&rsquo;s decision.&rdquo;<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p><p>News would then come out that the reason for the benching was a disciplinary issue, leading to the team&rsquo;s decision. Initially, after the game, Lamb shied away from the questions regarding the incident and deflected them by saying it was a personnel thing. However, he finally opened up about it on Thursday to Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News.<\/p><p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallascowboys.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"trk-cta-link\" data-cta-trk='{\"ctaType\":\"Link\",\"ctaSubType\":\"main\"}'>Cowboys&rsquo;<\/a> receiver confirmed that he and Pickens were at the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas, where they had dinner and a few drinks. The pair then ended up missing the curfew. The Cowboys inserted them in the game from the second drive onwards, as Dallas&rsquo; offense immediately clicked into gear.&nbsp;<\/p><p>Lamb finished the game with 5 catches for 66 yards and a touchdown, whereas Pickens was lethal with 9 receptions for 144 yards and a touchdown. Being the top receivers on the team, the duo has worked well in tandem so far this season.
