The NBA<\/a> is set to launch a league-wide biomechanics program to reduce the injury concerns among players. Currently, the rising number of injuries among players remains one of the biggest issues that the teams have been facing in the ongoing season. From Kyrie Irving of the Dallas Mavericks to Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks and Dallas Mavericks’ big man Anthony Davis, several players have been forced to miss time due to their ongoing injury issues.<\/p>

In fact, the list just keeps getting bigger every single day. According to a latest report by Yahoo, nearly half of all NBA stars are currently injured now. <\/p>

Hence, the league has decided to take drastic measures to address the injury issues by launching a biomechanics program. With this, the league aims to optimize player performance and reduce injuries in the future. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania<\/a>, “The league is launching a league wide biomechanics assessment program.” <\/em><\/p>

He added, “More than 500 players have already gone through a level of testing, there’s four rounds of biomechanics testing also needed to be done for the rest of the season and that’s gonna be used to optimize exactly how the performances and try to reduce injuries moving forward.” <\/em><\/p>

NBA’s Injury Concerns Continue to Pile up Despite LeBron James’ Return <\/h2>

Los Angeles Lakers’ icon LeBron James made his historic season debut<\/a> during the 140-126 win over the Utah Jazz after missing the first 14 games due to sciatica injury. Though James’ return on court breathed some life into the overall system, the disastrous injury rate in the current season has left everyone concerned. Within a month of the season, several stars such as Victor Wembanyama, Zion Williamson, Trae Young, and more have been forced to sit out dealing with tricky injuries. <\/p>

But what is the reason behind the lengthy list of injured players? Well, according to USA today, every team in the league is playing with a pace of 100.5 on an average<\/a>, which is the fastest since the late 1980s. Apart from that, there has been a significant increase in three-point attempts by the teams. With everyone attempting shots from distance, players are being forced to move around and cover more ground on both ends than they ever have. <\/p>

Moreover, the gruesome 82-match schedule has several back-to-back games and lesser opportunities for players to let their bodies rest. Needless to say, these conditions make it impossible for players to play all the games and moreover, sideline them with injuries within a month into the season.<\/p>\n
