The UFC 321 main event ended in absolute disaster when Ciryl Gane accidentally poked Tom Aspinall’s eye.<\/p>

The heavyweight title fight was declared a no contest <\/a>at just 4:35 of round one. Aspinall retained his championship by default, but the ending left everyone feeling completely unsatisfied. Dana White addressed the media immediately following UFC<\/a> 321’s disappointing conclusion Saturday night in Abu Dhabi. He expressed frustration about the unfortunate ending while confirming an immediate rematch between the fighters. He praised Gane’s performance. But then White dropped a controversial statement that raised eyebrows throughout the MMA community instantly. <\/p>

“I think that after the Jones fight, a lot of people wrote Ciryl Gane off, he looked damn good tonight… It was good, it looked like we were in for a few rounds and it was going to be a good fight. He had Tom bloodied up and Tom didn’t want to continue.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>
