The Sacramento Kings<\/a> are fortifying their backcourt with a veteran addition, as point guard Russell Westbrook agreed Wednesday to join the team. Turning 37 in November, the nine-time All-Star will sign a one-year minimum deal Thursday, as per ESPN.<\/p>

Post-De’ Aaron Fox’s trade to San Antonio last year, new GM Scott Perry retooled the roster. Free-agent Dennis Schroder arrives to ignite the team with Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Malik Monk, while bigs Domantas Sabonis and Keegan Murray hold the fort. There was still room for backup point guard with no one seized, and Westbrook just happened to be available at the right time. <\/p>
