The Ravens have finished the last couple of seasons playing in the AFC Championship game and the Divisional round of the playoffs.&nbsp;<\/p><p>Quarterback Lamar Jackson has also been in stupendous form over the past few seasons, winning 2 <a href=\"https:\/\/theplayoffs.news\/en\/nfl\/\" class=\"trk-cta-link\" data-cta-trk='{\"ctaType\":\"Link\",\"ctaSubType\":\"main\"}'>NFL<\/a> MVPs in the process. Granted, he hasn&rsquo;t reached the Super Bowl yet, but the potential for the Ravens to do so remains each year.&nbsp;<\/p><p>Baltimore&rsquo;s identity as a football team has always been one of a strong defensive unit. But, so far this season, the AFC North franchise has been anything but sound on that side of the ball.&nbsp;<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"zxx\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/d02Tssha7R\" class=\"trk-cta-link\" data-cta-trk='{\"ctaType\":\"Link\",\"ctaSubType\":\"main\"}'>pic.twitter.com\/d02Tssha7R<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Baltimore Ravens (@Ravens) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Ravens\/status\/1974925697350344862?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" class=\"trk-cta-link\" data-cta-trk='{\"ctaType\":\"Link\",\"ctaSubType\":\"main\"}'>October 5, 2025<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Baltimore Ravens Injury Concerns<\/h2><p>First and foremost, it is important to acknowledge the plethora of injuries that have depleted the Baltimore Ravens roster, and that includes linebacker Roquan Smith, safety Kyle Hamilton, and cornerback Marlon Humphrey, all of whom missed the game against the Texans yesterday.&nbsp;<\/p><p>Cornerback Jaire Alexander has also been suffering from injury problems since the game against the Bills in week 1, while defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike will miss the rest of the season after the week 2 game against the Browns.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p><p>Despite that, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baltimoreravens.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"trk-cta-link\" data-cta-trk='{\"ctaType\":\"Link\",\"ctaSubType\":\"main\"}'>Ravens<\/a> are not a team that should be giving up so many points to the opposition. The fundamentally sound defense that we are used to seeing from this team has gone missing, and that is a big concern for the now 1-4 Ravens.&nbsp;<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Baltimore has blitzed on just 25.3% of dropbacks (below league average). <br><br>When they rush 4 or fewer:<br>&ndash; Opponents complete 70.3% (10th-highest)<br>&ndash; Opponents scored 8 TDs (2nd-most)<br>&ndash; Ravens have 0 interceptions <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/H6EcsIZ9Xm\" class=\"trk-cta-link\" data-cta-trk='{\"ctaType\":\"Link\",\"ctaSubType\":\"main\"}'>pic.twitter.com\/H6EcsIZ9Xm<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Ravens Nation &#120391;&#120388;&#120401;&#120384; (@LIVERavenNation) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LIVERavenNation\/status\/1974178699303137453?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" class=\"trk-cta-link\" data-cta-trk='{\"ctaType\":\"Link\",\"ctaSubType\":\"main\"}'>October 3, 2025<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ravens Struggles on Defense<\/h2><p>So far, the Ravens have conceded a total of 177 points through 5 games. That is the most in the league through the first 5 weeks, with the next worst team being the New York Jets, who have allowed 157 points.&nbsp;<\/p><p>This means that the Ravens&rsquo; defense is averaging 35.4 points per game. And if this rate continues, Baltimore would have given up 602 points at the end of the 17-game regular season, making history in the league by becoming the first team to ever give up more than 600 points.&nbsp;<\/p><p>Currently, the Carolina Panthers team from last season holds the record for the most points allowed in a 17-game season, which is 534. Aside from the week 2 matchup against the Browns, in which they gave up just 17 points, the Ravens&rsquo; defense has given away 41, 38, 37, and 44 points to the Bills, Lions, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chiefs.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"trk-cta-link\" data-cta-trk='{\"ctaType\":\"Link\",\"ctaSubType\":\"main\"}'>Chiefs<\/a>, and Texans, respectively.&nbsp;<\/p><p>And the problem is not just in one area of the field, as Baltimore ranks 28th in rushing yards allowed per game with 146.4 and 31st in passing yards allowed per game with 262.6 through the first 5 games.&nbsp;<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This clip just about sums up the current state of the Baltimore Ravens: <br><br>Booger: \"It's getting late early. &hellip; The defense stinks. Furthermore, the secondary has its share of issues, and rookie safety Malaki Starks has yet to make the impact expected of him.&nbsp;<\/p><p>Heading into week 6, the Ravens will have yet another difficult game against the Los Angeles Rams, following which is their bye week.
