The Spurs will open the regular season Oct. 22 in Dallas.<\/p><p>Wembanyama&rsquo;s return is a major boost, but not every player is on the same timeline.<\/p><p>Point guard De&rsquo;Aaron Fox said he does not expect to be ready for the Oct. 22 season opener due to a right hamstring injury. Fox added he will not play in preseason games.<\/p><p>&ldquo;I think I&rsquo;m ready, but I don&rsquo;t have that expertise,&rdquo; Fox explained. &ldquo;I had never had a hamstring injury, so I didn&rsquo;t know what I was supposed to feel like. Right now I feel great. But I don&rsquo;t think I&rsquo;ll be playing opening night.&rdquo;<\/p><p>Fox did confirm he has fully recovered from offseason surgery to repair tendon damage in his left pinkie.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Harper Also on Hold<\/h2><p>Rookie guard Dylan Harper may also miss preseason. He had offseason surgery to repair a partially torn collateral ligament in his left thumb.<\/p><p>Coach Mitch Johnson said the team is taking a cautious approach. &ldquo;Everything is heading in the right direction. When it&rsquo;s all the way good, and probably a little overdone on our end medically, then we&rsquo;ll clear,&rdquo; Johnson said.<\/p><p>With Victor Wembanyama cleared, the Spurs head into camp
