The Golden State Valkyries are on the edge of creating WNBA<\/a> history and it is exactly what they aim for while hosting the Dallas Wings on Thursday, September 4. Currently seeded in the sixth spot, the Valkyries need to take down the Wings in order to book themselves a playoff berth. If they manage to do so, they will become the first expansion team in the league to reach the playoffs in their debut season. <\/p>

Wings, on the other hand, are out of the top eight. After finishing the previous season in the eleventh spot, they were hoping for a better campaign this time. However, it turned out to be another disappointing season for them. Currently seeded at the bottom of the standings, the Paige Bueckers’ led side is on an eight game losing streak. Despite their fate, they would want to put an end to their skid and end the season on a victorious note and win all three of their remaining games. <\/p>

The Valkyries hold an upper hand in the Thursday-night game, considering the home-court advantage and 2-1 dominance over the Wings. Hayes sustained a knee injury during a game against the Phoenix Mercury on August 22, after colliding with Mercury guard Kahleah Copper. Cecilia Zandalasini continues to remain out with a calf injury, while Kayla Thornton is out for the season. <\/p>
