Jon Jones has been through a lot of legal battles. The former UFC heavyweight champion’s career reads like a script filled with drug tests gone wrong, domestic disputes, and now hit-and-run accusations. Over the years, ‘Bones’ has faced everything from failed steroid tests to DWI charges. This made him as infamous outside the octagon as inside it. Between 2015 and 2017, Jones lost his light heavyweight several times due to disciplinary actions. He’s faced multiple legal troubles including domestic battery charges and incidents with drug testing agents. Just when fans thought he might finally be settling down after announcing his retirement, another legal storm hit.<\/p>

The latest chapter in Jones’s complicated story started with a February crash in Albuquerque. Police found a half dressed, intoxicated woman who pointed her finger at the UFC<\/a> star as the driver who fled the scene. The timing couldn’t have been worse. Jones had just announced his retirement from the sport that made him famous. Instead of celebrating his legendary career, he found himself facing two misdemeanor charges that threatened to tarnish his legacy even further.<\/p>

Jon Jones Case Dismissed After Phone Records Prove Innocence<\/h2>

The charges against Jones officially got tossed out on Tuesday when New Mexico prosecutors found his alibi defense credible. Court documents show that officials dropped the matter after finding “reason to believe Jones’ alibi defense is credible”. The key evidence was his cell phone records proved he never left his house that night. His lawyer, Christopher Dodd, explained that the accuser made false claims to avoid her own DWI charges, and police initially bought her story without checking the facts properly.<\/p>

Jones didn’t hold back in his victory statement, thanking the district attorney’s office for clearing his name completely. He emphasized the simple truth that he was never at the scene and never even left his house that evening.<\/p>

“I want to thank the District Attorney’s office for carefully reviewing the facts and ultimately vindicating me completely…The simple fact is this: I was never there. I never even left my house that night, and all the evidence proved that… Sincerely hope that this individual is held responsible by Albuquerque’s law enforcement…They not only disrupted my retirement but also made our police department appear negligent in the process. It is deeply troubling that, in today’s world, a single false accusation can take so much away from someone before any evidence is even considered.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>
