Fans knew him as one of the most promising prospects outside the UFC. His Bellator run included some spectacular finishes and enough buzz to make his UFC signing feel inevitable. When the promotion finally announced his debut at UFC 319, expectations were sky-high for the 28 year old featherweight.<\/p><p>Unfortunately, the octagon has a way of humbling even the most confident fighters on their first night. Pico stepped into the cage against Lerone Murphy, a seasoned UFC veteran who knew exactly how to welcome newcomers to the promotion. The knockout was so clean and devastating that it immediately went viral across social media platforms. For Pico, what should have been his triumphant UFC debut became a nightmare that would have lasting consequences far beyond just a loss on his record.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Aaron Pico&rsquo;s Manager&rsquo;s Strict Six-Month Rule<\/h2><p>Ali Abdelaziz doesn&rsquo;t mess around when it comes to fighter safety, especially after brutal knockouts. The powerful <a href=\"https:\/\/theplayoffs.news\/en\/mma\/\" class=\"trk-cta-link\" data-cta-trk='{\"ctaType\":\"Link\",\"ctaSubType\":\"main\"}'>MMA<\/a> manager represents some of the biggest names in the sport, and he&rsquo;s seen enough fighters rush back too quickly from devastating losses. His rule is simple but non-negotiable. Any fighter who gets badly knocked out must sit on the sidelines for at least six months. No exceptions, no shortcuts, and definitely no early comeback attempts. Abdelaziz has watched too many careers get derailed by fighters who thought they could bounce back immediately from serious head trauma.<\/p><p><strong><em>&ldquo;I have rules, man. When guys get knocked out like that, I&rsquo;m not gonna book him a fight for at least six months. After six months, he can fight. But at least six months. It&rsquo;s not healthy for a fighter to go out like that and just try to come back early. We see it over and over happen to many guys, like Volk. He pointed to examples like Alexander Volkanovski, who many believe came back too soon after getting knocked out by Islam Makhachev. His approach might seem harsh to fighters eager to get back in there, but it&rsquo;s rooted in genuine concern for long term health. The six month minimum gives fighters time to recover physically and mentally from a knockout.
