These are the following changes that will be implemented on Premier League 2025\/26 pitches:&nbsp;<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>&lsquo;Captains Only&rsquo; Approach<\/strong><\/h3><p>To improve referee-player interactions, the &ldquo;Captains Only&rdquo; rule restricts communication with the referee to only&nbsp;<strong>team captains<\/strong>&nbsp;during critical moments.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eight-Second Rule for Goalkeepers<\/strong><\/h3><p>A new rule targets goalkeeper time-wasting. If a goalkeeper holds the ball for more than&nbsp;<strong>eight seconds<\/strong>&nbsp;inside their penalty area, a corner kick is awarded to the opposing team.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Dropped Ball Restarts<\/strong><\/h3><p>The dropped ball rule has been refined. If play stops inside the penalty area, the ball is dropped&nbsp;<strong>for the goalkeeper<\/strong>&nbsp;to restart.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Double-Touch Penalties<\/strong><\/h3><p>A clarification on penalty kicks addresses accidental double touches.
