While Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz currently dominate the men&rsquo;s tennis world, a &ldquo;third guy&rdquo; could emerge to shake up their duopoly sooner than expected. Drawing a parallel to Novak Djokovic&rsquo;s rise during the Federer-Nadal era, Medvedev reminded fans that tennis history often finds room for surprise champions.<\/p><p>The Russian said,<em> &ldquo;Jannik and Carlos are playing amazing, they are the top two at the moment and they are playing better than everyone else, but never underestimate a third guy who is going to come and challenge them.&rdquo;<\/em><\/p><p><em>&ldquo;I remember Roger and Rafa. In 2021, he halted Djokovic&rsquo;s attempt at a calendar-year Grand Slam at the US Open, then became the first player outside the &ldquo;Big Four&rdquo; to reach No. 1 since 2004. Yet, now Sinner and Alcaraz lead a new era, having won seven majors between them.<\/p><p><em>&ldquo;They are strong players, but at the same time, they both can lose sometimes,&rdquo;<\/em> Medvedev acknowledged. <em>&ldquo;For example, Jannik lost against Sascha [Bublik] in Halle and Sascha won the tournament.
