Popularized by the Eagles , the play has been highly effective to the point where it&rsquo;s become a cheat code for them, with 108 uses since 2022, as per ESPN. Its success, driven by QB Jalen Hurts and a strong offensive line, has made it a polarizing topic in the <a href=\"https:\/\/theplayoffs.news\/en\/nfl\/\" class=\"trk-cta-link\" data-cta-trk='{\"ctaType\":\"Link\",\"ctaSubType\":\"main\"}'>NFL <\/a>due to its rugby-like nature and concerns over player&rsquo;s safety and pace of play, even though there is no factual evidence to suggest so.<\/p><p>Recently, <a href=\"https:\/\/theplayoffs.news\/en\/nfl\/\" class=\"trk-cta-link\" data-cta-trk='{\"ctaType\":\"Link\",\"ctaSubType\":\"main\"}'>NFL <\/a>owners voted on a Green Bay Packers proposal to ban the tush push, which would prohibit pushing or pulling a ball carrier to assist in gaining yards. The proposal, backed by teams like the Bears, cited safety and game flow issues. But they fell short with 22 votes, two shy of the 24 needed to pass.
