The Chicago Sky will take on the New York Liberty tonight, May 22, 2025, 8:00 p.m. ET in a highly anticipated WNBA matchup at the Wintrust Arena. The game includes two Eastern Conference teams who are on different trajectories against each other. As the regular season is now starting to unfold, both teams are looking to set the tone early, but their recent performances couldn’t be any more different.<\/p>
The New York Liberty are entering tonight’s game as the top team in the Eastern Conference with the current record of 1-0. Fresh off their 2024 championship season, the Liberty kicked off this year with a 92-78 win over the Las Vegas Aces, who arguably have the best player in the WNBA with A’ja Wilson. Despite Wilson’s outstanding performance, dropping 31 points, 16 rebounds, and 3 assists, the Liberty were just the far better team as they had four players in double figures when it came to scoring the basketball. Led by Briana Stewart, who dropped 25 points in the opener, and Natasha Cloud with 22, the Liberty have shown that they are a threat to repeat as WNBA champions yet again.<\/p>
Meanwhile, the Chicago Sky are trying to bounce back after a rough start to their 2025 season, sitting at 0-1. They’re coming off of a 93-58 beatdown against the Indiana Fever. Despite another double-double effort by Angel Reese, with 17 boards, and 12 points, the Sky were outscored every quarter by the Fever, and they simply had no answers for a red hot Caitlin Clark, who notched a triple-double. <\/p>
