Former World No. 3 Stefanos Tsitsipas begins his quest for a maiden title at the Foro Italico with a Round-2 encounter against Alexandre Muller of France in the 2025 Italian Open<\/a>. Tsitsipas, the runner-up at this event from 2022, will be determined to go one step further. Novak Djokovic, the man who beat the Greek freak to the title that year, is not featuring in Rome this year. Will Muller play spoilsport at the Stefanos party?<\/p>

Stefanos Tsitsipas has a 15-8 record in 2025 so far. The 26-year-old won the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships between late February and early March – this happens to be his solitary title this year. Normally an expert on the red dirt, Tsitsipas reached the quarterfinals in Monte Carlo and Barcelona before making a Round of 32 exit in Madrid. Failing to retain his crown at the Principality meant that Tsitsipas has fallen to No. 19 in the ATP<\/a> Rankings.<\/p>

Currently ranked 20 places below his opponent, World No. 39 Alexandre Muller won his first and only career title this year – at the Hong Kong Open in January. He also reached the final in Rio, where Argentine sensation Sebastian Baez dominated him to capture the trophy. Aged 28, Muller has been on the pro circuit for over a decade now. The Frenchman saved two match points en route to a 2-6 6-3 7-6(5) win over Jiri Lehecka in Round-1.<\/p>
