Alpine already lost their new team principal Oliver Oakes. He was replaced by Flavio Briatore. Now, its time for Jack Doohan to see the exit gate. Doohan was under risk since one entire month. Ralf Schumacher had already predicted his replacement since Bahrain. In this statement, it is clear that Doohan will not continue as their driver in the upcoming races in Formula 1. He is going to give way to the one hit wonder from Williams last year. Franco Colapinto is back to Formula 1. This time, he will be racing for Alpine instead of Williams.<\/p><p>Let&rsquo;s go through the clauses of his contract and more major news from Alpine after this announcement.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Franco Colapinto will Race for At Least Five Grand Prix Instead of Doohan<\/h2><p>Last year, Franco Colapinto was driving for Williams in order to replace Logan Sargeant for the latter half of the season. He was confident about getting a seat in Formula 1. However, his ambitions were not able to come true in 2025. Colapinto&rsquo;s performance and Briatore&rsquo;s liking towards the Argentinian driver has helped him gain his new seat in Formula 1.<\/p><p>Franco Colapinto was <a href=\"https:\/\/theplayoffs.news\/en\/f1-rumors-is-jack-doohan-going-to-be-replaced-at-alpine\/\" class=\"trk-cta-link\" data-cta-trk='{\"ctaType\":\"Link\",\"ctaSubType\":\"main\"}'>in rumors for the previous days<\/a>. It was speculated that he will join Alpine from Imola. Alpine F1 had also supposedly informed Doohan of this swap. They have finally <a href=\"https:\/\/www.formula1.com\/en\/latest\/article\/alpine-confirm-colapinto-to-replace-doohan-for-next-five-rounds-as-team-opt.4lH96VnGHyC45S3yjeJOMK\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"trk-cta-link\" data-cta-trk='{\"ctaType\":\"Link\",\"ctaSubType\":\"main\"}'>revealed the complete details of the swap<\/a> to Formula 1 fans today.<\/p><p>In this new swap, Franco Colapinto will race for five races (<em>at least<\/em>) as Alpine claims. He will sub out Doohan whose fate is not yet clear in Alpine. This news comes after a series of disappointing performances from Doohan. This is what he had to say about his promotion-<\/p><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em><strong>&ldquo;Firstly, I want to thank the team for giving me the opportunity to drive competitively for the next five races. He was able to secure his seat after showing good pace in the pre-season tests and his one-off performance at Abu Dhabi 2024. Doohan is thankful to Alpine and determined to not let his future go in the dark-<\/p><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em><strong>&ldquo;I am very proud to have achieved my lifelong ambition to be a professional Formula 1 driver and I will forever be grateful to the team for helping me achieve this dream. Obviously, this latest chapter is a tough one for me to take because, as a professional driver, naturally I want to be racing.&rdquo;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote><p>This announcement, makes Doohan the second driver to lose his seat in the 2025 season.
