Lamine Yamal was the star of the match on Wednesday evening as the teenager inspired a stunning Barcelona fightback against Inter Milan in the Champions League semi-final first leg. Inter had raced into a 2-0 lead within the opening 21 minutes, but it was Yamal who turned the tide with a breathtaking solo goal and a display brimming with confidence and class. Notably, the 17-year-old was making his 100th professional appearance for Barcelona.<\/p>

It has been a remarkable year for Barcelona’s teenage prodigy. Lamine Yamal won the UEFA European Championship with Spain and was named as the Young Player of the Tournament. The youngster has also won the prestigious Golden Boy award and added the Kopa Trophy to his collection.<\/p>

Yamal Is a Phenomenon Born Every 50 Years: Inzaghi<\/h2>

In the aftermath of the breathtaking first leg, Nerazzurri manager Simone Inzaghi couldn’t help but single out Lamine Yamal’s name. The Inter Milan head hailed Lamine Yamal as a ‘once-in-50-years phenomenon’. Inzaghi, visibly in awe of the teenager, commented that he hasn’t seen a player like Yamal in the last eight or nine years. Speaking after the match, Inzaghi said,<\/p>

“(Our performance) is a reason for great pride. We could even have won this game against a team who have a player who is difficult to stop. We started well, but they created a lot of problems: he created a lot of problems. He is a player I had not seen live before.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Yamal is clearly a talent of the type born every 50 years, talents like this I’ve never really seen before.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I saw him tonight for the first time and he created problems for us, we doubled up him… and then we lacked players elsewhere on the pitch. We made some adjustments to improve how we dealt with him after the break, which is not easy. He really impressed me today.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>
