At first it looked like he will take on Alex Pereira next, however, after Poatan’s loss against Magomed Ankalaev, Du Plessis revealed that he doesn’t have any interest in taking on a defeated fighter. Dricus Du Plessis Injury Update: Will He Face Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 317?<\/h2>

Many fans and analysts expected Du Plessis and Chimaev to square off for the middleweight championship at UFC 317. However, according to the latest reports, this fight might not happen anytime soon as Du Plessis is reportedly injured, and will not be able to take on the contender in Chimaev, to headline the UFC 317 at T-Mobile Arena.<\/p>
