Quarterback Nico Iamaleava is receiving quite a bit of backlash for his decision to transfer from the Tennessee Volunteers to the UCLA Bruins. The decision to do so seems to be due to Iamaleava wanting an increase in NIL money. Reports indicate that Iamaleava’s father has disputed NIL money as the reason for his son’s transfer, however, Iamaleava was no longer a member of the team during their spring game. <\/p>
If NIL is indeed the main intention behind leaving Tennessee and joining UCLA, there is no concrete evidence confirming the amount he will receive with the Bruins. Apparently, the 20-year-old was making $2.5 million at Tennessee but wanted around $4 million. <\/p>
NIL deals started taking place in college football<\/a> from July 2021 with the intention of helping out collegiate students earn some money and help businesses grow by using the Name, Image, and Likeness of the players.
