This year, however, it seems Colby Covington has decided to play spoiler. The former welterweight title challenger has never been one to keep quiet or follow the rules. During a casual livestream with popular internet personality N3on<\/strong>, Covington dropped information that made MMA fans’ jaws hit the floor. He casually mentioned that the UFC is planning to book Islam Makhachev against Ilia Topuria as the main event for International Fight Week. This matchup would pit the dominant lightweight champion against the former featherweight king.<\/p>

“They haven’t announced it, but I think it’s going to be Makhachev and Topuria.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

Not content with dropping just one bombshell, Covington continued his unauthorized reveal by discussing the co-main event. According to ‘Chaos,’ middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis will defend his title against the undefeated phenom Khamzat Chimaev.<\/p>

“And they’re talking about maybe putting the co-main… Who’s the co-main? I think the 85 title fight between Dricus Du Plessis versus Khamzat Chimaev.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>
