Yuki Tsunoda stepped into the 2025 season with a massive disappointment. In spite of his experience, he was not chosen over Red Bull rookie Liam Lawson for the second seat. Tsunoda turned the tables in his favor after proving himself better than Lawson in the first two races of the season. According to Tsunoda, he was more than ready for this role. The switch between Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson happened during the extended break between the Chinese GP and the upcoming, Japanese GP. Yuki Tsunoda will be performing in front of his home crowd in his first weekend with the senior team.<\/p>
Yuki Tsunoda was always under pressure during the 2025 season. His inability to get himself a Red Bull seat raised many questions. At one point, even Red Bull were discussing his imminent release from the team. Yuki Tsunoda on the other hand, was getting ready to dethrone Lawson as Max Verstappen’s teammate.<\/p>
However, this is not the end of the struggle for Yuki. Helmut Marko has given him the green signal for the entire season.
