After defeat against Canelo Alvarez back in september of 2024, Edgar “The Chosen One,” Berlanga was back in the ring and this time he had to take on Jonathan Gonzalez at Orlando, Florida. He knocked out the fellow Puerto Rican in 2:31 of the very first round of the fight and heavily outmatched Gonzalez. <\/p>

Berlanga dropped Gonzalez with an early left hook and even though he looked like he didn’t know where he was, the Puerto Rican still stood up and wanted to continue the bout. As soon as ref let the fight restart, Berlanga threw another series of punches and a big right hand, which sent Gonzalez to the ropes. At that point, we all knew the fight was pretty much over but Gonzalez wanted another go but that was a mistake. Even the commentators wanted the fight to be stopped at that point, but since Gonzalez was willing to go further, Berlanga connected with a sharp left hook and the referee had no choice other then stopping the fight. Gonzalez looked like he wasn’t ready to take on Berlanga at all.<\/p>

Following the fight, Berlanga did not hesitate to set his sight on bigger challenges, and went ahead to call out Caleb Plant. Let us look at what he had to say.<\/p>

Edgar Berlanga Called Out Various Fighters From His “Hit List”<\/h2>

In a fiery post-fight interview, Berlanga called out former IBF super middleweight champion Caleb “Sweet Hands,” Plant reigniting their ongoing rivalry. Berlanga chanted “F*ck plant,” repeatedly to get the crowd energized, and also to settle scores with the 32 year old, American boxer. <\/p>

Plant saw this and immediately decided to fire back on Berlanga saying, “And the crowd goes MILD! Nobody even pitched in on the chant. -1000 aura on that one.” <\/strong><\/em><\/p>

The bad blood between the fighters has been going on for months, which was fueled by verbal spats and social media feud.<\/p>
