The shooting guard\/small forward signed a two-year, $3.7 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday (18th).<\/p><p>After playing for the Brooklyn Nets last season, Walker signed with the Boston Celtics for their training camp. However, he didn&rsquo;t make the final roster and decided to play in Europe. He reached an agreement with Zalgiris Kaunas, a team in Lithuania, to compete in the EuroLeague, with a clause in his contract that allowed him to return to the NBA. Just a few months later, Walker joins the 76ers, who are in need of perimeter help.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Lonnie Walker IV has agreed to a two-year, $3 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, his agent George S. Langberg of GSL Sports Group told ESPN. Walker has played for Zalgiris Kaunas in the Euroleague and had an NBA-out in his deal. However, it was only in his third season that he began to make an impact in games. Now, this is exactly what Philadelphia needs in the absence of Jared McCain and Paul George, who were expected to be the team&rsquo;s perimeter scorers alongside Tyrese Maxey at the beginning of the season. Additionally, with the team ranked 11th in the Eastern Conference, the 76ers don&rsquo;t have much to lose at this point in the season: they are currently out of the play-in with 28 games remaining.<\/p><p>The team is also hoping for a healthier Joel Embiid as the season progresses.
