Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving shared an insight of the bond that he shares with former teammate and the Los Angeles Lakers’ newest signing Luka Doncic. <\/p>

In what might be regarded as the biggest trade of the league, Doncic headed to the Lakers as Anthony Davis made his move to Dallas<\/a>. Irving talked about how he has been keeping up with Doncic following the deal that sent shockwaves among fans and pundits. <\/p>

Irving, like others, found it difficult to process the fact that Doncic is no longer a Maverick, revealing how he has been missing his ‘hermano’<\/a>. Recently, Irving emphasized on how the bond he and Doncic share is beyond the NBA business and that they are loyal to each other. <\/p>

He said that they are in constant touch<\/a> and have had several “sacred conversations that went beyond the court.” <\/em><\/p>

“We’ve texted back and forth. I’ve let him know that regardless of how this NBA business shakes out…We’re loyal to each other’s families now. We had a lot of sacred conversations that went beyond the court, and just helping each other as men,”<\/em> Irving said.<\/p>

Irving and Luca became teammates when the former was traded from the Nets in 2023. Since then, both led the side to their third-ever Western Conference title, first since 2011. <\/p>

Speaking about when he is planning to catch up with him, Irvin stated, “I set my mission early on when I got traded here of just what I wanted to accomplish with him and I felt like we got that going and unfortunately it was cut short, but we’ll see each other pretty soon. Hopefully I can catch up with him during All-Star break.”<\/em><\/p>

“I don’t take that reward, or that accomplishment for granted”- Kyrie Irving on NBA All-Star selection<\/strong><\/h2>

Kyrie Irving was picked for the NBA All-Star Game 2025 as he replaced his teammate Anthony Davis. The former Laker star sustained a left adductor, that could keep him out of action for almost a month, which sends Irving to San Francisco this weekend. <\/p>

Speaking about his selection, Irving expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and said that he doesn’t take any of it for granted. <\/p>

“We’ve been grinding it out all season, trying to figure out how we can get the best out of each other. I’m grateful, I don’t take that reward, or that accomplishment for granted.”<\/em><\/p>

“This is the best league in the world. Only the top 24, or 25 in this case, it feels good,”<\/em> Irving mentioned.<\/p>

Irving was in action on Monday as the Mavericks recorded a narrow 129-128 loss to the Sacramento Kings. The 32-year-old finished with 30 points, seven assists and nine rebounds in 44 minutes of gameplay. <\/p>

Luka, on the other hand, made his debut for the Lakers on Monday, Feb. 10<\/a>, as they recorded a 132-113 win over the Jazz. The game saw Doncic playing his first game of the year, where he finished with 14 points, five rebounds and four assists.<\/p>\n
