Since coming back, Kawhi Leonard is taking his time. The past few seasons have shown that patience is key when it comes to the Clippers’ star. His history of injuries and absences calls for caution.<\/p>

Even though the Clippers could certainly use him at full strength, Leonard is pacing himself.<\/p>

With only 21 minutes played last night against the Miami Heat and a modest six points on 3-of-9 shooting, Kawhi Leonard knows he must be patient before increasing his playing time. He’s learning from past experiences.<\/p>

“I’m taking my time,” the LA Clippers star said. “I done that in the past and it led me on the bench, so I’m good where I’m at.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>

The Clippers are gradually reintegrating him into the 2024-25 squad, which has been reshaped by departures and absences. With a solid 19-15 record before his return, the Clippers have found ways to win without Leonard.<\/p>

However, a sudden return could disrupt the team’s dynamic and rhythm. Of course, adding a player like Kawhi can only be beneficial in the long run.<\/p>

Still, Kawhi Leonard needs to work on his fitness and tactical readiness before making a full comeback.<\/p>

The ultimate goal is to have Kawhi at 100% physical readiness for the start of the playoffs.<\/p>

In addition, the recent devastating wildfires have led Kawhi to step away from the franchise<\/a> to be with his family. He notably missed the game against Denver.<\/p>

What’s Next for the Clippers?<\/strong><\/p>

With a 21-17 record, the Clippers will host the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday at 10:30 PM ET.<\/p>

After a trip to Portland, the Clippers will begin a four-game homestand.<\/p>

As of now, no rescheduled date has been announced for the postponed game against Charlotte, which was canceled due to the wildfires.<\/p>
